One of the Oldest of the Irish Shrimp flies from the North West corner of Ireland, this fly perform well in settled summer conditions but really comes into its own on those rivers lucky enough to have a late run og Grilse and Autumn Salmon, where it seems to excel. It is a first choice fly for late seasons conditions of slightly coloured water in fresh conditions.

The Grand Daddy of all of the Irish Shrimp fly patterns, created by Pat Curry in the early part of the 20th Century, this fly has few equals in medium to slow paced water. With its bright badger hackles and black and red body colours, this fly operates in a variety of water conditions from clear through to heavily spate coloured water. With it's three wound hackles, the fly an be "tiipped" through slower flows where it is extremely effective. The pattern has spawned a myriad of variants and "cousins", some of which has found their own place in the "hall of fame", but none have ever overtaken the Curry's Red as a fish catching pattern throughout a season long spell in the variety of water conditions to be encountered.

A beautiful, strikingly effective pattern from that famous spate river in the Scottish highlands. Similar to a Delphi Silver or Silver Stoat in appearance, this is truly a great summertime fly which is deadly when fresh foish are about. Named after the famous confluence pool on the river Tweed, this is a long-held pattern which imitates a shrimp in the Ocean, as a Salmon might expect to see it. Although modern interpretations of shrimps are more realistic, the fact that this pattern is still in use is a testimony to its effectiveness.

Kylie Shrimp - J.C.Kylie Shrimp - J.C. Ref: DF-IRSD-0009
A pattern originally from the Kyle of Sutherland, this fly has gained great popularity throughout Scotland, Ireland and England. It is unusual in the fact that it has a copper coloured body which is very effective in coloured water and in the back end of the season. Its striking colour scheme of Black, Copper and Hot Orange has proven to be a good taker of fish, particularly in spate systems and other rivers that carry a bit of colour. Originally dressed as a shrimp, this is the Hairwing variant which has proven itself over the past number of seasons.

A version of the Ally's Cascade pattern dressed in a more mobile style which will retain its shape in faster flows as well as creating enough movement in slower flows due to the addition of a middle hackle and a small Arctic fox wing.
